This morning's run was a 3 miler, and I decided to try out a different route - I ran across the bridge into Virginia and then on the Mount Vernon trail for a while, then back over another bridge into DC. It was beautiful, and it was fun to think that I had run into a different state. But other than that, the run was not great. It was very hot and humid, and I let myself walk sometime after 2 miles. As usual, I feel like I didn't really need to walk, but I let my tiredness get to me mentally. I have a 4 mile long run on Saturday, and I'm really nervous about it. I know I did the 3.5, but it felt insanely difficult and I felt like it was a miracle that I made it. When I still have days where I struggle with 3, it's hard to imagine that I am going to manage 4. It's actually something that I'm actively dreading and getting anxious about. 3.5 didn't seem like such a big jump, but going up to 4, when I've only done 3.5 once, does seem big.
Anyway. We'll see.
Mile 1: 11:50
Mile 2: 12:07
Mile 3: 12:39
Average Pace: 12:16
In terms of getting back on track with my eating, I did not do well. Like I said, I started out the day eating fudge, and I tracked it, so that was OK. But then we went out for Mexican food, and I had three margaritas, a bunch of chips and guacamole, and two tacos. I didn't even attempt to track it. I think I will weigh myself tomorrow, maybe it will be a wake-up call that I need to get back on the wagon.
